They're Losing Their Hair -- For a Good Cause
It all started when Vicki Cameron decided to let her hair grow. She mentioned it when she met her friend Liz Veronda, also an AlphaNet coordinator, at the national Alpha-1 Association’s annual conference in St. Louis in June.
“I’ll join you,” said Liz. “We’ll grow our hair together.”

Somewhere in that conversation, a light bulb went on. Cameron and Veronda decided to grow their hair for a year, then donate it to Locks of Love, which makes wigs for children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
When fellow AlphaNet coordinator Doug Turley found out about the pact, he decided to join it.
“It’s simple, fun and for a good cause,” Veronda said.
