Talecris Gives Free Tour of Manufacturing Plant
A group of 70 patients, relatives and support group organizers from around the country took part in a tour of the Talecris Biotherapeutics plant in Clayton, NC where several different treatments are made, including medicine for Alpha-1, other immune disorders, hemophilia, burns and severe blood loss.
Alpha Stacy Miller was healthy enough to suit up in two layers of coveralls, a hard hat, safety glasses, a face mask, gloves and three sets of booties to see where the medicine that keeps her alive is made.
“I owe my life to this stuff,’’ said Miller, who receives infusions of Talecris’ Prolastin every other week.
