IAPO Discusses Patient Leadership in Worldwide Healthcare
The International Alliance of Patients’ Organization (IAPO) 2008 Global Patients Congress met Feb. 28 to discuss the progress being made worldwide to elevate the role of the patient as an essential partner in the design and delivery of healthcare.
Over 180 delegates from around the world attended the event, representing patients and other health stakeholders such as the European Commission, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global health professional associations.
Myrl Weinberg, president of the US National Health Council, who serves as chair of the IAPO’s Governing Board, presided over the conference.
