Knoxville Named Worst in U.S. for People with Asthma

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has named Knoxville, TN as the ” asthma capital” of the country again—making this the third time in five years the city has held the top spot.

AAFA says some of the factors that helped put Knoxville in the top spot again include:

Higher than average annual pollen levels
High air pollution
Lack of “100 percent smoke-free” laws
Patient over-use of asthma rescue medications.
