Alpha Trine Engebretsen, First Florida Liver Transplant Recipient, Talks About Miami Herald's Silver Knight Award
With 10-plus years behind her living pill-free, Trine Engebretsen is an organ transplant success. At age 2, she received the very first liver transplant in Florida. As a high school senior, the Miami Herald honored Engebretsen for creating an education program about organ transplant.
The Silver Knight Award is presented by the Miami Herald and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to Miami-Dade high school seniors for community achievment.
