Final Senate Vote on GINA May be Imminent
Washington, DC—The Senate may take action on GINA as early as this week. We need your help by contacting your state Senate and expressing to them the importance of passing this bill. This may be our last chance and we need your support make sure that the bill is passed.
Represent the Alpha-1 Community in Washington, DC!
United for Lung Health is holding its first Federal Advocacy Day on May 13-14 in Washington D.C. The Alpha-1 Association joins the Alpha-1 Foundation and COPD Foundation in support of the advocacy priorities for this day which include: 1) Increased NIH funding for lung research 2) Pulmonary Rehab and 3) and each group’s own advocacy message.
The Association’s advocacy priorities include:
*Support legislation introduced by Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Congressman Phil English (R-PA) to require Medigap parity in all 50 States;
- Support legislation to codify pulmonary rehabilitation as a Medicare benefit;
- Support the American Association for Respiratory Care legislative initiative to recognize Respiratory Therapists in Medicare Part B.
