Emeril Lagasse hosts Alpha-1 Dinner to Honor Kushner

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse will host and reserve his Miami Beach restaurant Sunday evening, May 18, for a dinner in honor of his late friend John E. Kushner.

Lagasse and Kushner were friends for years and Lagasse named a popular dessert—JK’s Chocolate Souffle—in honor of Kushner. Kushner, whose widow Barbara Kushner lives in Coconut Grove, died in 2005 of Alpha-1-related liver disease. The dinner and a silent auction will benefit research and programs of the Alpha-1 Foundation through the Kushner Family Fund.

Dinner is $250 per person. Cocktails are at 6:30, dinner at 7:30.
Emeril’s is at 1601 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. For information, contact Angela McBride at the Alpha-1 Foundation, 305-567-9888 Ext. 233 or amcbride@alphaone.org.

The dessert, for interested chocolate lovers, comes in full and demi sizes. Here’s the demi version:
